Guardian Childcare & Education

Where children can belong, somewhere they can become the best version of themselves.

Green thumbs in the making 🌱
Across Guardian, children explore sustainability through everyday experiences - planting in gardens, learning to compost, caring for worm farms and looking after the nature around them.

A lovely reminder this Earth Day that caring for our planet can start small 💚

Kindy children at Guardian Wynnum West recently joined Chef Jacqui and Centre Manager Miss Krissy for a very important tea party… menu planning! 🙌

Over tea and conversation, children shared their favourite foods, foods they’re not so keen on, and ideas for meals they’d love to see on the menu. Their ideas are also helping the team reflect on ways to reduce food waste while creating healthy meals children truly enjoy.

How wonderful to see children confidently sharing their thoughts, with their voices helping shape what's on the centre menu!

Did you know early literacy begins long before children can read words?
It grows through everyday moments - conversations, shared stories, and noticing the signs and symbols all around us. As we say - ‘marks have meaning’!

You might notice this when your child learns which way to hold a book, spots the first letter of their name, or recognises familiar logos and signs in the world around them. These small steps grow into bigger understandings of language, reading and writing.

‘Being a Writer’ is one of the seven learning areas in our To BE Me learning program, where children explore literacy through stories, conversation and curiosity.

We know that every child moves along this pathway in their own way. By keeping literacy playful and connected to real life, we support your child to build strong foundations, and a genuine love of reading and writing!
